  • The Level 2 Youth Work Training delivered by Be More Plus for youth workers in Woking has been the stepping-stone for young people to become assistant youth workers within their communities.  The training enabled the young people to have an understanding of youth work delivery, processes and gave them the knowledge, skills and qualification to apply for and successfully gain employment within this field of work.

  • Woking Borough Council and its Youth Delivery Partners have been delighted with the work of Shinead and her BEMOREPLUS colleagues in delivering developmental courses for local young people. This included peer mentoring and introduction to employment for local youth club members and accredited youth work courses. The feedback from attendees has been excellent and the skills have been fully used with young members going on to deliver peer mentoring sessions themselves and three older members now employed by Surrey County Council as local youth workers.

  • Really wanted to thank you for your support in training me in youth work. I started a youth club purely through need in our community and with no experience except as a business owner and a Mum of two boys. The Youth Work level two course was delivered with positivity, upbeat workshops and physical activities. These teaching methods meant the course was full of energy and information was exchanged easily and everyone participated as we all got to know one another quickly with fun icebreakers. Thank you for a fantastic learning experience. I really hope we can work together again

  • Shinead’s delivery on the projects have been inspiring, inclusive, and engaging. Working with challenging YP in the HM YOI’s to working back in the local community with contrasting groups, displays the quality of transition in her work.

  • Shinead has delivered excellent training for Active Communities Network over the years. Her delivery style is very engaging and informative. She also creates thought provoking scenarios and discussion to help young people open up on the course. She is also informal with young people but delivers very professional courses and makes everyone contribute whilst they feel challenged and engaged.

  • Shinead has been working with Magic Bus for the past year and has been quite instrumental in successfully designing and delivering our teenage girls programme in Lambeth. She is very proactive and resourceful and as an excellent in-depth knowledge about the issues affecting the young people and their development in the UK. She strikes an amazing bond with all her participants and is also a very good team player.

  • Shinead is someone that Jason Roberts Foundation has been working with for the last couple of years. She has a knack for always making sure the courses run well, informative and relevant to the group being engaged. Shinead is an ideal facilitator to deliver our training courses and her expertise in the field is evident and breeds confidence to our young people. The use of creative resources also means the training courses being delivered have meaning and her experience is invaluable.

  • In a difficult and sometimes hostile environment you always manage to get the learners to engage. The learners happily join in discussing and working on sensitive subjects in a way that doesn’t cause any upset or ill feeling. The boys are always keen to attend knowing that you are running the sessions and I think you can see this by the positive results. By the time you have joined us on the course the group have sometimes been together for 8 weeks already, so for you to come in and be able to keep them focused during group work and individual work is amazing.

During our presentation days the learners are always keen to show off their course portfolios and are really proud of what you’ve helped them achieve. Many of our guys have never been focused enough or in the right position to have gained any type of accreditation before.

Your characters and personalities are such that we do not need to behavior manage the class at all, you get respect from the off as they can tell you are there because you care and want to support their journey into stopping offending behavior.

Thank you again for all your hard work and understanding in working to a difficult regime.

We look forward to hopefully continuing a successful working partnership.
